The company is a very profitable $100M division of a diversified international organization with sales of over $20B. Their Headquarters is in Columbus, OH. The company develops and manufactures new oleochemical molecules/lipids and blends or toll-manufactures an established product. The products are custom manufactured in smaller quantities instead being a commodity.
This position reports to the Head of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The geographic scope of the position is the United States with the focus on the Eastern United States. This position will work with current & prospective customers, discover customers’ needs and propose how the company’s product offering can provide solutions This individual calls on all functional areas of customers, including R&D, senior management, Purchasing, Marketing, and Operations. Developing and maintaining customer relationships at all functional areas is necessary.Requirements
MS or PhD in related discipline (pharmacology, chemistry, biochemistry, etc.) with 3+ years sales or lab experience and 1+ year of sales in pharmaceutical ingredients. In addition, candidates must have knowledge of the drug development process and regulatory agency requirements. Account management and development, excellent communication, troubleshooting, negotiating skills, and ability to make cold calls and in-person sales calls & presentations are necessary. This person must be able to travel regularly 2-3 overnights per week.
