Global Talent Solutions Lead


About the Job

Position Overview:

The Global Talent Solutions Lead will collaborate with business leaders across organizations to understand business goals and provide strategies to ensuring successful talent alignment with business objectives. They will lead the design and implementation of programs such as the Annual Talent Review process the tools required to support a successful deployment in the business. They will partner with the Talent Consultants and hiring managers at executive levels to have insight to promotion, placements, development opportunities and risks factors for Executive Talent. They will leverage global expertise to understand forecast and develop market intelligence for critical roles.

 This role will serve as the primary Consultant for the design, delivery and evaluation of global Talent programs. They will leverage a strong consulting partnership with the HR Business Partners and leaders within the business, regions, and functions to understand the business strategy and effectively assess and determine the talent needs and apply expert delivery of COE developed programs and solutions. They will leverage their industry expertise to identify gaps and recommend appropriate solutions to ensure we have the talent required to support our Game Plan for Success. This leader will identify potential leaders earlier in their careers for customized development, ensure ready now successors for critical roles and facilitate robust talent reviews to continuously adjust selection and development for executive positions.

 Principal Accountabilities:

60% -The leader in this role will leverage their consulting skills to work with HR and Business Leaders to understand the business environment, uncover talent related needs and identify solutions to meet those needs.

  • Partner closely with the other HR areas (i.e Leadership Development, Inclusion & Diversity & Total Rewards) to determine and design appropriate programs meet the Group, Region, or Function talent and organizational needs.
  • Manage key talent pools (for example High Potentials, Diverse Talent, Successors, etc.) Actively engage and monitor the development of this talent to ensure that development plans are in place and progressing. Liaise with the Center to deploy targeted solutions as needed (ie assessment, coaching, etc…)
  • Maintain strong relations with HR Business Partners and business leaders to ensure that talent management processes and practices are in alignment with the organization.
  • Actively look for ways to improve diversity within our talent bench and implement solutions that meet the local needs of the business
    • Act as a change agent and effectively utilize change management methodologies to design and deploy talent solutions
    • Leads global and/or regional solution development and implementation projects (i.e Talent Review)
    • Provides scalable and sustainable Talent Management solutions to specific business issues
    • Manage continuous improvement of current processes by facilitating focus groups to obtain feedback and understand what’s working well and where there are opportunities for improvement.
    • Leverage HR colleagues in other practice areas including Employee Relations, Total Rewards and HR Operations as needed in order to provide comprehensive solutions.
    • Work with the regional talent leaders and the COE Practice Leads to ensure program effectiveness post implementation
    • Partner with TA to understand competitive landscape and implications for talent management practices

 20% -Design, Implementation and Monitoring Cargill’s Talent Planning process to ensure that we are creating a strong diverse leadership bench for the future.

  • Continuous review of Talent Planning process to ensure effectiveness of process, tools, and schedule.
  • Ensure effective integration with all People Processes
  • Manage the succession planning process for executives by understanding the talent demands and developing plans to support with the transition of leaders.
  • Collaborate and communicate with global TM counterparts on talent management initiatives to ensure consistent execution across the matrix organization.
  • Provides scalable and sustainable solutions to specific business issues
  • Act as a change agent and effectively utilize change management methodologies to deploy solutions and processes
  • Monitor and manage talent solutions implementation for gaps and address areas of opportunity

Monitor and maintain a robust pipeline of emerging leadership talent leveraging global talent pools where appropriate and ensure talent placements (i.e development assignments) are aligned with global business strategy

  • Primary point of contact for global talent details and insights that feed processes like the State of Talent.
  • Globally track and engage with all Senior Manager I and above talent to better understand risk factors, succession plans and development needs to ensure they remain engaged and are fulfilling their potential

 20% -Talent Management Solutions Lead

  • Partner with Global Talent Management counterparts and leaders team to build and deploy global Talent Management solutions
  • Actively participate in professional talent management organizations and stays abreast of emerging trends and best practices solutions to determine feasibility for Cargill implementation
  • Lead implementation of special talent solutions projects as needed.






  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years project management experience
  • Minimum of 5 years Change Management experience
  • Track record of success working in a highly matrixed global organization
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • 10+ years experience in an HR function
  • Experience in program/process design, as well as process improvement
  • Demonstrated track record in taking initiative, working independently and handling multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to partner, build, and sustain positive working relationships with both managers and employees
  • Proven ability to work successfully with leaders at many levels of the organization
  • Experience creating and delivering executive presentations 
  • Working knowledge of HR Talent Solutions (i.e. SuccessFactors)
