Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) is proud to be Ohio’s first and largest community college. Currently, we have an excellent opportunity for a Tenure Track Faculty position in Emergency Medical Technology. The successful candidate will prepare and deliver lectures to students; prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts; and keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, speaking with colleagues and participating in professional conferences. Responsibilities will include advising students on academic and vocational curricula and on career issues as needed; planning, evaluating and revising curricula, course content and course materials and methods of instruction; and maintaining regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students. The incumbent will also serve on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, department matters and academic issues and participate in campus and community events.
Bachelor’s degree in a medical field
Certified State of Ohio Emergency Medical Technician Instructor – Paramedic
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Paramedic
American Heart Association Basic Life Support Instructor
American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified and become an ACLS instructor within six months of employment
Become an American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) instructor within six months of employment
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite (or equivalent)
Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population
Master’s degree in any field
National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic
American Heart Association ACLS Instructor and American Heart Association PALS Instructor
Community college teaching experience
This is a full-time tenure track faculty opportunity for the academic year beginning August (Fall) 2018. Ability to work a combination of days/evenings/weekends is required. Assignments may include working at multiple sites/campuses.
